I have been dining here for breakfast for years because I also stay at the hotel that houses the restaurant when I visit OCMD. The breakfast is consistently good - I always order my standard griddle favorites (waffles, pancakes, and French Toast), while my husband usually goes for the buffet. The buffett has a good variety and a reasonable price. Often the servers are exchange students, and can be hard to communicate with, but they are always pleasant regardless.

We've been going to Phillips By The Sea for years. It's always the same - beautiful views, and it's much more casual for breakfast than for the other meals of the day. Elegant Victorian decor is a nice change of pace from the rest of the boardwalk. The Chipped Beef (Capt. Phils Breakfast) is the best I've had anywhere. The portions are huge, and we always start off our breakfast by splitting their muffins-of-the-day. Sort of an appetizer for breakfast...gotta love it. Never been a fan of buffet dining, so I can't comment on the buffet, but everything from the menu has been great. My mother, who's very picky, has only one complaint - the eggs oscar (poached eggs with crabmeat and asparagus) is sometimes cold. But if asked while ordering, they always make sure it's steaming when they bring it out. Good choice for OC!

Dine in their Victorian dinning room and enjoy classic eastern shore dishes for breakfast. With a great choice of buffet or personal orders. You can enjoy dishes like "The Phillips Benedict". Which is an open english muffin and two crab cake balls; topped with poached eggs and hollandaise sauce. Or you can enjoy their delightful Breakfast Buffet with items like Corned Beef Hash, Cheese Blintz, Eggs Benedict,Waffles, French toast, Breakfast Egg Rolls, Scones,Danish, mix fruit, all the juices,and etc.. It's a breakfast that you'll never for get.
