There is a very weird thing about *every* bagel joint in Nashville. NO, make that 2 *weird* things.

#1 - How do you bake a sesame bagel and yet the sesame seeds are RAW? (hint: - they glue them on AFTER they are baked) They are all white and boring.

#2 - Why would anyone want to take a just baked bagel and have it toasted? What The....?

Like City Limits (another Nashville mediocre bake shop) Stars' Bagels are these pale little dough circles with no personality. They are never baked enough, the toppings seemed to be applied after the fact, and all they want to know from you is how you want it *toasted*. Honestly though, at least it's size is true to a genuine lower east side NYC bagel back in the day. But they charge you an arm and a leg for the privilege.

Yuck - their bagels have a strange consistency. This is my 2nd least favorite bagel place - with Breuggers being my 1st. It's a bummer, too - they have a good location.

The bagels are fresh and quite good. The muffins are excellent. If you go, be sure and try the cranberry muffin. Very affordable, though it can get a little pricey if you order a latte or other specialty coffee.
