I absolutely love this place. If you are there and they have their sour cream walnut coffee cake do not miss out!! It is the best I have ever tasted. The food is great. A lot of sustainable and vegetarian choices and all very good.

I LOVE Bridges. It is a perfect vacation in the middle of the workday.

I wanted to post this because whoever posted the "awful" review seems fake. It's a shame that a lot of hard working restaurants have been subject to these fake reviews that seem like they are from competitors.

Get the cajun catfish or benedict breakfast at Bridges and enjoy the simple home away from home atmosphere.

Be wary this place is very dirty, the service is poor, the food pretentious and very poorly cooked. Just because you want to be a great place doesn't mean you are. All reviews are phoney likey the proprietor, this place is very very bad!!!

I've been living down the street from Bridges for two years and I've never had a meal I didn't like. Unfortunately, the service has never been good. It's such good food that I will always go back, but it's always with the understanding that Freddie is going to be rude, everything will come slowly, & the nice guy who works there will never do more than fill coffees and waters and clear tables even when he is perfectly capable of doing more to help things move more swiftly. I recommend going to enjoy the food...and good luck with the rest.

This is the best place! Love the food love our lovely waitress. We drive from the Coast once a week to eat there! That has to say alot.I believe if you expect fast food go to McDonalds. If your picky stay home but if you want a exceptional cooked meal Bridges is the place to go!!. Remember when you walk in the door and your lucky to get a table when its busy relax read the paper your food will come when its ready. Your waitress only takes the order and deliver"s it.(and everything else but cooking)..

Just back from an enjoyable breakfast of eggs benedict. My waitress was friendly, efficient, and informative, and did a fantastic job of handling the packed dining room all by herself. She managed to keep my coffee cup full without my ever having to ask for a refill.

I have been to Bridges twice and really enjoyed the food, especially the toast. Both times, though, I felt really unwelcome. I didn't get any coffee the first time, and the server told me I needed to get it myself in a way that wasn't friendly. When I went back a few months later and tried to help myself to a cup of coffee I was told in the same tone they had table service.

I don't need my wait person to be a friend, but I do appreciate friendliness, not being treated like a complete outsider for not being a regular.

I don't think I'll go back.

All around great breakfast--loved the special. We had the nicest waitress ever who took excellent care of us. This place is a local favorite and gets very busy!

Nice, relaxed atmosphere. Tried the BERT omelet and was impressed with portion size and presentation. Good coffee and the toast was thick sliced and tasted home made. Total bill was well under $10!

Grab a spot by the window and you have a perfect place to have a great breakfast and enjoy your morning paper...

The best Mimosas in Portland. Super food, great service, eclectic atmosphere. Try the jalaapenos muffins. WOW !!!

"A-1, top-notch, superb," is my review! Bridges has got a really nice atmosphere and the food is premium. In my opinion, one of the great overlooked breakfast spots in Portland.
