Looking for a filling and reasonable place to eat breakfast in Estes Park, Colorado? You better come early, because the place fills up fast. Usually by 9 AM there is a line outside. The line doesn't last long, but still, it's a line. Once we found this place in August, 2010, we became regulars while exploring the nearby mountains. Estes Park is a friendly city and this restaurant is no exception. The staff was friendly and efficient and the food was great. Nothing on the menu was a disappointment, so order anything and enjoy the generous portions and great coffee.

Generally speaking, a 30 minute wait to be seated after 8a is a good sign for any breakfast restaurant - no exception here and worth the wait (fyi - we were in Estes Park during high season and on a weekend, so the wait may be shorter at other times). Nothing fancy about this place. A wide range of menu choices, big portions and friendly service. Kid portions could pass as adult portions. Plus aside from the usual crayons for the kiddos play with, small toy figurines are available to keep them entertained at the table.

This place was the greatest surprise of our trip to Estes Park, in the Rocky Mountain Nat'l Park area. I saw it reviewed on another site and we thought we would try it out one morning. We tried it the very first morning and never went anywhere else. It gets very busy after 8:30am so get there early if you can. Omlettes are, in our opinion, fantastic and very filling. They also have great oatmeal dishes (yes, oatmeal!) The staff could not have been friendlier. If only every state had this wonderful restaurant in their towns. One can only dream. Don't miss it.
