From the moment you get out of your car, the scent of fresh bacon, pancakes, eggs will fill your nose! On weekends waits are long, and make sure to go after the busy lunch hours, around 1-2 and it'll be empty. They're food is excellent, and delicious! Go there whenever you have the chance. (:

While all of the food is great at the Waffle Shop, my experience there is really all about the bacon. I've never had bacon so tasty, thick (not fatty) and perfect in all of my travels. I want to know where the get the stuff so I can learn how to cook it at home - its really that good.

If you are a student and just stop by on a random weekday, you can eat a few well cooked eggs, muffin and coffee, or some pancakes, for less than 5 dollars. (And it's all fantastic)
If you're up for a big breakfast on a weekend, everything. Ommelettes, pancakes, eggs, and of course, waffles. Every bit of it fantastic, and not expensive.
Try the strawberry waffle and the orange juice if you're really looking for a treat.

First time at the waffle shop and it was simply amazing. Had a little wait but nothing outrageous. The service was fast and the food alot better than we expected. Also the portions were huge, I didn't even finish half my food. They only take cash though so be ready for that. They have an atm inside but it charges $2. Other than that It went beyond our expectations

I live outside the State College area but make it a point to go to the Waffle Shop almost each time I visit the area. GREAT food, GREAT service!! I haven't had anything on the menu that I don't like. Just make sure you allow a little time to wait in line. While it is sometimes long, they get you in quickly. And it's well worth the wait anyway. ENJOY! :)

BEST PANCAKES EVER! Even though it is called the Waffle Shop, go there for the pancakes and thick cut bacon because you will never taste any better. They refill your coffee at every turn and it is terriffic coffee to tell the truth...some of the best I've had. While the line may be long, they have a very fast turnover so don't be deterred by the sight. It's well worth any wait.

The Waffle Shop is definitely many steps above your average diner. The food is certainly cleaner and fresher than most breakfast places, and it's definitely delicious. Usually, the servers are extremely friendly, which is always nice. I think what proves The Waffle Shop's greatness is the fact that there are, essentially, no other breakfast places in State College other than The Waffle Shop, and considering the town's not particularly huge, it says something that there are THREE Waffle Shops here! My favourite's the one on Atherton near the intersection of Blue Course Drive (across from the Shell station)-- not the one listed here on this site.

I always take people who are visiting me to the Waffle shop because it is now becoming part of the whole state college experience. The prices are really really reasonable and any college student could afford to take their date there! they serve breakfast and lunch until 3pm because it is just a breakfast place. A word to the wise if you choose to go there do not go on a sunday! that is when the church crowd goes and the wait can last for 40 min. I recommend that anyone goes during the week. Get an S3 that is bacon, eggs, toast (of your choice), homefries all for about 3-4 dollars. and the portions are great! you will never walk out of there hungry!

Once you sit down you are in for a wonderful experience. This restaurant prides itself on serving fresh, fash, and fun food. You are never waiting more than 10 minutes for your food. The workers are some of the friendliest people. The food is amazing. Everything on the menu is so fresh and great tasting. I could go there everyday to eat and never get sick of it. Everyone should find the time to get to the Original Waffle Shop when they are in the area.
