Wow! The Diner is the best breakfast in Norman!
The food is awesome and lovingly prepared.
Service is another highlight, as everyone who works here is a character and a half. Real people, not plastic fantastic drones. The chili is really popular, but I like the Eggarito with Homefries.
YUMMY!

The huevos rancheros is awsome, a little spicy but very tasty. I crave the combination of spicy flavors on my taste buds. The food is awsome, service is good, and the price is right. I invite everyone to try at least once, you'll go back.

Guess they got too much publicity from Guy. On a recent visit to Norman I ordered the Frito chili pie based on the outstanding recommendation of Mr. Amspacher himself.What I got was a plate of Fritos with a little dab of chili in the middle and a bad attitude from the waitress. She said "I ran out of chili", but offered no alternative. Ambiance was interesting (I probably ate there in the 60's when I was in grad school), the food was mediocre to lacking, not worth a trip back.

Breakfast omelets are good, but my favorite there is the Bacon Cheeseburger. Best burger i've ever had.

Forget Ihop, The Waffle House and Denny's. The Diner is the only place you need to know about. My husband and I eat at the Diner often. The food there is wonderful and the atmosphere is awesome! On Sunday mornings there is always a wait but it is so worth it. The wait staff is right on and your food is served in a timely manner hot, fresh and ready to eat. The owner (Mark Amspacher) is an amazing person. I know him personally and would praise him even if I didn't. He is an avid fisherman and hangs pictures of his best catches up on the wall for all to see. He runs a spectacular breakfast joint and I hope everyone, whether you live in Norman or you are just passing though, will get a chance to eat at one of Norman's finest diners...THE DINER!!

The Diner is the best breakfast place ever!!! I love the Breakfast Burrito and Chicken Fried Steak with Eggs. Hardcore people might want to try the "kitchen sink" an omelet with random ingredients selected by the cook! Awesome staff, Old school booths, or sit at the bar. The owner is a huge fisherman, so there are pictures all over of his catches! When I lived in Norman, I would always see people recovering (like myself) from the night before. That place is awesome! Only problem is that it can get a bit crowded and sometimes there is a wait, but it's worth it!!!!!!!!
