Totally do not get the excitement over this place unless you are from New England and have never had a fresh avocado slice on your omelette or something. Ridiculous wait even on a weekday, and food was just plain old diner food. Not bad, not fabulous. And they tend to rush you to turn the tables.
Completely not worth the hassle.

After patiently waiting about 30 minutes outside on a Sunday morning, was rushed through in the restaurant by the waitress, the bus boy and the owner/manager. It took almost 15 minutes for the food, and then checked to see if the plates were empty and kept asking if finished, then er came and said he needed to move the tables since people were waiting, even though I just had a cup of coffee poured. We had been in there 30 minutes. Would never go back there, there are too many restaurants that treat their people more respectfully. Where is it law that you need to eat your breakfast within 20 minutes and leave and my breakfast came to $18... so not a fast food restaurant price.

Lived all over the world, and love breakfast. Let me tell you, this place is the best for omlets hands down. Nothing on the menu is bad. When in the south go where the truckers go, when in California go where the surfers go. Very pleasant owners and staff, clean and prompt with both the food and the check. Try the Zell special omlet.

I was alone when I visited the Beach Break Cafe on Saturday, January 24, 2009, about 9:00 a.m. after visiting this web site. I walked in to register with the greeter under a bunch of their hats, strung from the ceiling. He was very pleasant and told me it would be about a 10 minute wait. I wandered outside to a help yourself coffee cart and waited about 5 to be seated at a 4-place counter in a comfortable captain's chair. Kelley was my waitress. She was very friendly and attentive. This place is about 30 feet square with about twelve workers. They have about 7 booths and 5 tables inside and 5 tables outside (with umbrellas). The left the doors open an a nice breeze came in. I had a Denver omelet, hash browns, toast, and tangerine juice. The food came quickly, was generously proportioned and good. My tab came to $15.75 (without the tip). Visiting from Massachusetts...

The best eggs benedict is North San Diego County-
plus you can't beat the home fries/hashbrowns!
Great "hugh" pancakes and great hot coffee, at a reasonable price. Worth the wait for a table on weekend mornings!
Try this "jem" of a restaurant in Oceanside, CA.

The Beachbreak Cafe is the best breakfast restaurant in Oceanside. The service is amazing at this packed hot spot, and the food is well worth the wait. Everything is amazing, but be sure to try the delicious coffee cake, drizzled with icing. The location is easy to find, and it's close to the beach - what more could you want?
