have been going to carols corner for years. you can go to shari's, elmers and other restaurants nearby, you will not get better quality or portion size for your money. Wait staff is busy but they are very friendly. Go hungry or have leftovers. wait time short on weekends.

We ate at Carol's a couple of weeks ago. It was the best breakfast we've had in a long time.
Here's a picture of my breakfast.

I really don't understand the first two reviews of Carol's Corner. Yes it looks older and worn on the outside, but then it IS a greasy spoon/family place...What did you expect? Crepes and espresso? A slice of orange? Oh Please! Judging by the happy expressions of the stoners, soccer families, and working class couples of various ages,(myself and hubby included!) they were tremendously happy with what they ordered. Food was a great diner experience (yes, sometimes greasy), the wait staff was incredibly busy but patient, and we left with a pound of 'tots and half of a tasty monster sandwich to go home. Expensive? Depends on your point of view. One hugely porpotioned meal can easily feed two to three people--Four depending on what you order. To the first to reviewers---Go back to Portland and eat at Helser's, they just love hipsters. They'll even throw in a slice of orange with your dainty meal, all for the same price the Carol's charges.

the worse food - overpriced - I have ever had.
We paid $27.35 + tip - a total of $35 for two for breakfast.
My husband had a full order (half was just $2 less) of a plateful of undercooked - greasy potatoes with a little ham and cheese and covered with a ton of gravy. I had grilled ham and cheese sandwich. He had coffee and I had a pop. The food we took home was unedible - once the grease cooled and congealed it was disgusting.
Will not go there again - way overpriced - crappy service - bad food. I can not believe I have seen lines to get in this place.

Truly disgusting. I got the country-fried steak. Steak should not be mystery meat. Also, when you mean to include 2 cups of gravy with a meal, you should list it on the menu in case the customer might not want a coronary. Add some hash browns from a bag, toast and a couple of eggs, and you have yourself one brown meal. For twelve dollars they could have at least included a slice of an orange or something, because it's not like they're spending a bunch of cash on that "steak" they served me. It's also the home of the 6-egg omelet, which is gross. There's no reason to eat a 6-egg omelet, unless you're a prize-fighter on a quest for quick weight-gain. I suppose the eggs themselves weren't ruined, and the hot-sauce bottle was full, so I'll give it 2 eggs out of five.

If you look around at the diners you see that the majority are fellow overweight americans that enjoy their food as much as I do. If you love breakfast anytime, crisp on the outside tender on the inside hashbrowns, huge pancakes and fast service, this is the place. I ordered an 8" pancake and it was at least 11". It was busy when we went and I was amazed at how fast our food was served. Were talkin less than 7min! Very friendly staff and a comfortable enviroment makes this my new fav breakfast restaurant ;-))

Wonderful family restaurant with classic menu in LARGE portions, in a no frills dining area. They also have a luncheon counter, so if you are alone and want to read the paper, there you go! You will be taking a "to-go" box home, guaranteed. It is a happy, bustling, energetic place. You can stay and linger, or get in and get out. Great value and service for the money. Us gals go there after church for lunch on Sundays.

This restaurant has a lot of fun energy - you notice it as soon as you walk in! We were seated immediately, even tho it was busy, and I could feel a smile come over my face just because it felt good to be there! I ordered the 8" pancake special, which came with two huge pancakes (hanging over the side of the plate) and two eggs. Delicious, light pancakes. My husband had the breakfast sandwich and commented that the sausage was better and leaner than he expected. Coffee was good - oh, and I had to try one of their biscuits. It was HUGE and very tasty. We had a GREAT waitress. I'd go back!

Carol's Corner Cafe has become one of my favorite places to go. I'm always satisfied with the food and the service. The servers are very friendly and the food is always cooked perfectly. I'd also like to mention that the portions are rather large, so any hungry person or anyone with a large appetite will be satiated. What's more to say? Go and find out for yourself. If you have any love of good food, then you'll end up becoming a regular.

If you have a hangover and need some grease, stat, this is the place for you. It is a true greasy spoon and they do a good job in that idiom. One can get a bit too much grease, though. Cheap, large portions, and friendly waitstaff even when it's busy.
