Very good omelets! Somewhat on the pricey side, but still a very good experience - particularly when sitting outside on a sunny day.

Gilbert's is my all time favorite breakfast and lunch deli. Everytime I am on the Eastside it is a must stop. I have NEVER had a bad meal at Gilbert's. Love the micro scrambles. They are the best deal in town. His salads and sandwiches are so fresh and true culinary masterpieces!!!! If you like corned beef you have to try #7. No description would do it justice. Don't miss this fabulous deli!

I've been to them all and this is the best breakfast in the Seattle/Bellevue metropolitan area. FRESH, FRESH, FRESH ingredients great flavors for scrambles and omeletts (herbs de provence...lemon pepper, dill & curry in one the omelettes) & the best pancakes....try the Marrionberry.... and.... the French Toast with applesauce and Italian Chicken Sausage - Ya dunk and ya dip and you roll... it's beaucoup delicious!!!!
But if that's not enough...let's talk about the atmosphere - Smart Urban Deli without any of the pretentiousness. Gorgeous interior - painted tapestries on bright apricot walls, high ceilings, Parisian marble topped bistro tables, wooden tables and a slate floor....Still, order at the counter--casual, casual, casual and the friendliest staff anywhere....Plus there is a newsstand and a New York Times lying about along with New Yorkers, Nat'l Geos and an eclectic assortment of books.
Located in Old Bellevue - the part of the city with wide brick sidewalks and old fashioned street lights the location is as charming as the restaurant itself.

I decided to try a new breakfast place in bellevue, and came across Gilbert's cafe. The atmosphere was cozy and friendly and Gilbert was available to make suggestion's from the menu. The hot turkey and swiss bagel sandwich is to DIE for! The flavors are innovative and fresh and the portions are large, enough to share with your plus one. I HIGHLY recommend Gilbert's to anyone craving a seriously delectable treat!

Wasn't impressed by the portion:price ratio. Food was pretty good though. It's a nice area to have a light bite and walk around.

Fare ranges from micro scrambles to very large omelettes and scrambles plus sausages (even Italian chicken sausage), 12 or more types of bagels, good pancakes, etc. Coffee is self-serve, but good. Also good lunch menu. Lots of reading material scattered around, and usually NPR or jazz in the background. Sidewalk seating available when weather permits. Nice neighborhood hangout, but worth the trip even if you are miles away.
