OK depending on which day you go there. On 07/27/10 I went in and ordered breakfast and also to go for my wife and everything was perfect. On 07/28/10 called in to go exactly what I ordered the day before. The hash browns on first day were shredded and cooked - tasted great. On the second day the "Hash browns" were a cut baking potato that was not cooked well and raw - tasted horrible. The omelette the first day did not have any seasoning on it. On the second day it had so much parsley on it I spend almost 10 minutes trying to get it off with a spoon. I called and spoke to the manager about the inconsistency and that we were not coming back and she said that was OK with her. She indicated that she could care less.

Dempsey's has that "small town feel" that's so hard to find these days. The staff is friendly and soon recognizes you if you eat there frequently. This attitude is infectious... the customers parrot the hospitality and will often speak to you (something unknown in DC!). On weekend mornings there's sometimes a bit of a line, but the wait isn't long and the food makes it WELL WORTHWHILE. I recommend it highly.

How do you define Best breakfast ever?
Basically a breakfast that comes out right away steaming hot, thats done the exact same way every time, and that taste amazing... The great service is just a bonus!

Dempsey's might take a little out of your pocket, but, you will always leave satisfied. So let go of that almighty dollar and treat yourself to a tongue pleasing meal. You will always get your monies worth.
