Mimis is CA chain. I was excited when they finally came to my neighborhood. I have had a many a great breakfast here, but sometimes they can be rushed and the waiting line is atrocious 45-1hr(weekends). The standard breakfasts have great potatoes when served HOT, with the best variety of MUFFINS that are oversized and tasty. Their specialy pancakes were outstanding. Eggs as ordered. This place is a better than average, but depending on which manager pushes service, but the help suffers service LOSS when a manager isnt on the floor.

This was my first visit to Mimi's. I went there on the advise of a couple of coworkers. They raved and raved about how great the food is there. I will admit the atmosphere is nice. We were seated at a really great table. Our server was prompt and brought me my coffee right away. I was however, very disappointed with my morning cup of joe. Flat and lifeless. Not impressed. I ordered one of "Mimi's Favorites" the Pain Perdu Breakfast (eggs over medium). When my breakfast arrived, it looked pretty good. But as I began to eat the first thing I noticed was that my potatoes were underdone and not hot. My eggs that I ordered over medium were done on the outside and completely raw in the center including the white parts. I expected the yolks to be a little runny, but the white part I wanted cooked thoroughly, it wasn't. I also ordered my bacon soft. It was extra crispy. And the stuffed french toast had a tablespoon of the filling all on one side of the bread. And the service after we received our meal became non-existant. Needless to say, I won't be returning.

Mimi's (a CA chain) has a great atmosphere (New Orleans bistro) that serves excellent breakfast. The menu choices are varied (although management's decision a few years ago to give up specials - like Pumpkin Pancakes in the fall - is disappointing). Food is not greasy. Many dishes come with juice and muffins. OJ is freshly squeezed and tastes great. The muffins are large, warm and appetizing. Breakfast is large enough to split (which they will do at no extra cost). Coffee is rich and plentiful. They also will substitute fresh fruit for their redskin breakfast potatoes. Place can get crowded but tables turn over fast. Unfortunately, the service and food quality is hit or miss. Sometimes we go away very satisfied and other times unhappy. We only wish they were more consistent and added back the specials. It is a excellent choice otherwise.
