Citizen Cafe has really good buttermilk pancakes and sausage. They make their own sausage and it's definitely a step above the commercial sausages most restaurants serve. This place used to be Sweet Lorraine's. It's better now.

Sweet Lorraines is now the Citizen Cafe. The new owners are a huge improvement. Excellent dark roast coffee, inventive cooking by a well known local chef.

Unfortunately, Sweet Lorraines has closed. A new restaurant is to open by mid-May. I will try it out and let you know. The "in" waitress may still be working at the new restaurant!

I would say that the Sweet Lorraines is awesome but it can be hit or miss. You go one Sunday and it is packed. You go the next Sunday at the exact same time, and its empty. The food is always really good, even when you have to wait for a little while. The place is pretty small(nothing like Al's) but they fit as many people in as the law allows. If you can make it during the week, you will be in and out within 30 minutes. Look for the experienced waitresses, they have an "in" with the kitchen and you will see your food faster.
