Just went the other day. I like that they open at 6am, makes it easy to swing by for breakfast on my way to work.

I took my gf and it was her first time. I ordered a simply 3 egg, bacon, hash browns and toast breakfast and she'd ordered their breakfast sandwich.

Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day so I'm pretty picky, however I can't find anything to complain about. The portions were great, I couldn't finish it all. My favorite part? The bacon! You know how when you go to regular chain breakfast houses, your side of bacon is 3 extremely small pieces, so thin you can see through them? This was certainly not the case. The bacon was large and in charge! I was very pleased! Hash browns were done perfect, a little crispy but not burnt and the eggs were cooked exactly to order.

We liked it so much we decided to become "locals" or "regulars" and make it a monthly trip.

Service is great, everyone is friendly, definitely has a small town feeling, especially since most of the patrons seem to know each other, or the staff.

Overall, I'd say that the meal was great, extra points for being open early, and two thumbs up for not being shy about the bacon! We will be returning!

PS. The pancakes are GINORMOUS!

They do not know how to make scrambled eggs. They come out "fried well". I've tried the restaurant numerous times and have even asked for my eggs scrambled "fluffy". They still turn out Horrible. Another visit I ordered an veggie omelette and they dumped a bunch of frozen vegetables in some eggs and called it good. The worst vegetables you can imagine in an omelette

I started having breakfast at the Donald Cafe 15 years ago when I lived in Newberg. I've always had a great meal when I stopped in, and the locals that frequent it add to the experience.

I would ride my bike there for breakfast, then tour around the French Prarie area before returning home. Unfortunatly I now live too far away to do this trip (and too old), but if I'm driving South on I-5 and it still morning the Donald Cafe will be on my route.

this family ran and owned restaurant is a very friendly environment where quality is the main goal, which shows in the meals that are served. the time it takes to make the meals is a bit slower than the average restaurant, so you must not be in a hurry, or the restaurant will hold you back. the family has not hired and do not plan to for a while in order to keep it strictly family ran. the hours are 6 am to 2 pm tuesday through saturday, 7 am to 2 pm on sundays and closed on mondays.

Awesome home fries, hugh pancakes, homemade fresh biscuits, great pork gravy, great steaks, farm fresh eggs, antique early American environment. Excellent service, and friendly too.
There phone # is 503-678-1364. There is one day a week it's not open. I can't remember what day is.
