The breakfast here is adventurous and fun, but I don't think it deserves the long wait.
The special when I last visited was a bread pudding (called a "french toast") baked inside a sugar pumpkin. It was really rather good, but it did dry out very easily, and didn't look as good as some of their other french toasts. We also had the migas, which weren't like the migas they serve in Austin, but they were tasty.
We had to wait over an hour to sit and the waitstaff was a surly as a diner's, both of which were real distractions from the experience. Even with the testy waitresses, I don't think waiting any longer than 15 minutes would be worthwhile for what you get.
There are breakfast places not too far away that are as green as Portage Bay with a friendly staff and better food. I think the reason this place is so highly regarded is that it is right next to campus and a hotel and the long lines make people think it must be worth it.

This is an AMAZING breakfast restaurant with nearly all organic ingredients. The menu is EXTENSIVE with option of the "breakfast bar" loaded with fresh berries and home made whipped cream to top your pancakes and french toast. ONLY drawback for this place is the wait you may find on the weekends. Get there early or later in the day. Breakfast is all day on the weekends, but unfortunately stops mid day on the weekdays. I highly recomend this one...
