Glad I waited in line for my fun meal. The food was great, prices were low, people where real and my suggestion is to eat here as often as possible.

I'm writing about the 9th & U location, so listen up! If you're dumb enough to stare at the thugs at 3am, don't show up! If you don't mind casual conversation with some very nice working ladies or trading nods with Ethiopian dervishes then wait around for your eggs here, and don't complain if the order isn't quite right. Your waitress likely just got off the boat from Sierra Leone or Jamaica, so leave her a nice tip.

Who could turn down a meal at the Steak and Egg, one of the only 24 hour restaurants in DC? Greasy as they come and brimming with attitude, you know they love you at the Steak and Egg when they curse your mother by way of an introduction.

Time was, you could see three fights a night at the Steak and Egg. Unfortunately, those days are long gone, but the colorful cast of characters working behind the counter is as lunatic as ever, and Oz still serves up wisdom with the hash browns.
