Nice place with a pretty big breakfast menu. I had the Popeye omelet with spinach, mushrooms and Swiss cheese. I liked it. I'll be going back soon to try more things. Oh... and their hash browns were fantastic.

The quality of the food is incredible. It was one of the only places I could eat when I was doing chemo and radiation. People were kind,didn't stare, and the food was simple enough that it didn't make me sick. I am so glad to have a place like this in my city!

I'll let you in on what the other reviewers forgot to mention:

If you're into wearing hemp pullovers, drum circles, and riding your bike even when the tempature is below zero, then the Seward "Community" Cafe is for you.

However, if you're not a hippie, you're not a "wake and bake" type, bath more than once a week, and not into the "coop" ideal when it comes to dining, then go elsewhere.

Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against this type of establishment, I just don't want to eat there.

The Seward treats patrons to the best value, forgoing service for quality of food. If you're happy to bus your own dishes in exchange for cheap and delicious organic foods including many vegan and vegetarian options, you'll be well pleased to tuck in here. The menu is innovative and unparalleled. Coffee is well made, properly brewed.
