Perhaps I've had better luck than the others with the service. Not chummy, but it was fine - what I expect from aspiring artists. Love the french toast and the breakfast sausage. And... it's never too early to enjoy the red velvet cupcakes...or pie...or brownies (to die for). The co-owner who does the baking is passionate about her food and occasionally will pass out brownies to test a new recipe.

It looks great from the outside, but we were disappointed after the meal. They do serve some things that you won't find at other breakfast joints, but the taste is just so-so. A little bit overpriced for what you get.

Auntie Em's has some tasty nibbles on the menu. I like that they think outside of the breakfast box. For example, one day they featured collard greens, braised pork with eggs and toast for breakfast. There is always an inventive tart, or quiche using seasonal produce along with typical breakfast fare. And to echo the other reviewers, yes the staff can be indifferent sometimes and the line is long and ... and ... and.
I think the sausage and cheese grits are fantastic. I love the egg dishes and the pancakes and french toast that whiz past me look yummy.
Auntie Ems is my go to place. I know what I'm getting and its usually good.

A large sign outside the restaurant stated ORDER YOUR HOLIDAY PIE NOW. After waiting in line for ten minutes, we were told that the ordering day expired yesterday. When we informed them that their sign was still up, they simply said, "Yeah, we know". No apology, no nuttin'.
I have a feeling that their indifference to their customers doesn't bode well for their future. There are other eateries in the neighborhood. CAVEAT EMPTOR!!!

You know, I'm not a fan of Em's - they are spendy for what you get, and the service is spotty: here, the coffee isn't the only thing that's a little bitter. The staff is sometimes surly, sometimes indifferent, but never good. I want to like this place 'cuz it's right down the road from where I work, but I can't do it.

Good place. Big portions. Try the pancakes and French toast.
