L'Avenue
Exit Mont Royal metro. Turn Right. About 4 blocks. You'll pass a Second Cup and a Premiere Molson. It is right before the Esso gas station. You'll recognize it because there are plenty of people waiting in line to get in.

This restaurant is by far the best Breakfast place in Montreal. L'Avenue really serves up the most interesting dishes and doesn't compromise great taste even though their dishes are beautifully presented. When I go, I always have the Munschauser, the potatoes are really delicious with mushrooms and becon, and I always get my eggs "tournés"! I can't have breakfast without fruit, and LAvenue taught me you don't have to compromise on that, even for a deliciously rich breakfast. This is where you only have to eat one large meal a day because you will definitely be full by the end of it! You have to see the washrooms.. very retro. This place really is a find. Too bad they're getting so popular and less kitchy and unique. You may have to wait about 10 minutes to get in (and in the winter this is brutal because only part of the waiting area is heated...) but the service is great and the food is certainly worth the wait.

Just a very classy, hippy and enjoyable setting with a big menu and big plate of food. They use omega eggs, which is very healthy. It's a nice place to spend the Sunday noon for brunch.
