Rotten is the word for the worst breakfast ever. Didn't like it.

Not everyone may hanker for the Al Sharpton breakfast of waffles and chicken (fried or smothered) but there are many other options.

My wife thought a waffle with bananas and walnuts and carmel would be just the ticket.

"These waffles aren't as good mine," she announced. "They aren't even as good as Denny's."

"Yeah but they are lighter," I protested, "just like folks said."

"Oh they're good but not as good as mine," she said.

I gave her some of my beef bacon and that fixed things up better.

I guess not everyone prefers waffles made with just egg whites or whatever but apparently some do. Denny's doesn't know how to make grits like Amy Ruth's I assure you though maybe some even prefer Denny's or would rather home fries.

Still I think most everyone will be pleased with Amy Ruth's one way or another even if everything is not their cup of tea - so to speak.

The coffee is good, the service exceptional, the prices modest but, dang it all, they don't seem overly anxious to provide a refill.
