I've seen both Larry King and Stan Lee (creator of Spiderman) eating here. I've gone about 5 times in the last 3 years and I always see someone from TV even if I don't recognize them by name. The food is good. I usually get omelets. The prices aren't too bad considering Nate 'n Al's is smack-dab in the middle of posh Beverly Hills. I like them a lot. I've always had great waitresses too. There's a surprising family feeling to the place. It's not snooty like you might expect.

Sunday brunch at Nat 'n Al's was a good experience. Our waitress Lois was warm and efficient and made us feel like regulars. I was feeling a little eccentric so I tried two items from the breakfast menu that struck me as unique: the Tortilla Bree and the Noodle Pudding.
Their tortilla Bree is a variation on traditional Jewish Matzo Bree, a pleasingly plain dish where tortillas are scrambled with egg. Matzo bree is often served with jam. The tortilla bree which is scrambled with a handful of chopped tomato is served with salsa. The verdict: it was simple and tasty. It needed a little salt. The portion was huge.
The second breakfast item I ordered really had no business being on the breakfast menu. It was their noodle pudding. Imagine a baked rice pudding made with noodles instead of rice. It was delicious, very cinnamon-y. But let's face it... no matter your ethnicity or religious affiliation... it should be a dessert.
We arrived for brunch around noon. While the restaurant was fairly busy, we had no problem getting a seat right away.
Nate 'n Al's might be in the heart of Beverly Hills, but it has none of snobbiness you might equate with the high-brow burb. Down the street, fancy restaurant after fancy restaurant was preparing to serve child-sized portions for $30 a plate. Give me Nate 'n Al's and a big plate of eggs for $9.00 anyday.
