Although it's been a few years since I moved from Carbondale, I LOVED going to the Smithy when I lived a few blocks from it, and spent many a lazy Saturday morning there enjoying a nice breakfast with my husband and/or friends. Tasty food, cozy place, great service. The Huevos Rancheros were always a personal favorite of mine.

Most of their dishes are $7-8 dollars. I always have the McHuevos (eggs, mushroom, green onions, homemade salsa, cheese and sour cream served on top of hasbrowns). I substitute the salsa with pork green chile. It's worth the extra $1.50. Located in an old black smith shop that's been added on to. Neat place, great service, excellent food. I'd drive to Carbondale just to have breakfast here.
