At the back of the Municipal Market in Athens, Greece is a fantastic place to have breakfast, lunch ,dinner or somewhere to go after the nightclub and before you go to work in the morning. Ok I've only gone there to eat when my plane lands late or early in Athens or I'm filling in time for a ferry - because I know it will be open and the food is always good. It is real comfort-food soup (fish, bean or meat or offal) fried Aegean fish, big portions of home style cooking. You want beer with your breakfast breakfast you can get it here. Like many places that serve the market workers eg old Smithfield in London it is an institution and a family favourite. Local residents turn up for takeouts because everything on the menu can be taken away. A meal for 2 costs 15 Euros.
