Mary's serves a really good breakfast at a decent price. It's just too small for my comfort. The last time my husband and I were there we had to listen to a very rude intimate conversation between two bikers and one of their girlfriends. It made the good food rather tasteless.

The Gold Miner Cafe is similar to some of the best in the area, but fails to meet those standards. The food is pretty good, with decent pricing. But this restaurant can get pretty busy, even on weekday mornings (aren't you people supposed to be at work ?!? Just kidding :)). The service was slow when we visited, so be advised.

Gold Miner is a great spot for breakfast. Best to hit it mid-week as weekends tend to sport long lines and a substantial wait. I labeled it a greasy spoon because this is not a low fat place. The food is great: big portions, friendly servers, a family friendly place that works hard to ensure a good meal. It is always busy so servers tend to help each other and bus people refill coffee. It can make getting your server back hard but it makes for a lot of coffee refills. The food is so huge that you may want to split but they don't like it. If a couple wants eggs and pancakes one order one and one order the other and switch on your own. Half plates are extra money and you get more the first way. The food is fresh and extensive. They have great food for kids too. They provide crayons and a coloring sheet and kids drinks which they refill too. The biscuits are great, as are the omelets. Try it out. You may love it. They take big parties so call ahead if you have the gang in town. If you are hungry go here!
