Having been a customer for the last five years along with all of my family and many many friends in North Providence,I feel I need to speak the truth rather than deliberate maliciousness as the previous reviewer. I too was there on Mother's Day and I too waited a little longer than usual. However, I specifically reserved a table for my entire family way in advance because I know how very busy they are even in these tough economic times, obviously a tribute to their high standards. It is by far my favorite breakfast restaurant and most restaurant owners I know frequent there as well. The food is made to order, the attention to detail is next to none and the place just has class. The restaurant is immaculate and the bathroom is cleaner than most home's. I certainly didn't mind the little extra wait as it was Mother's Day and one just expects that- that is most healthy happy individuals like the kind Papu's attracts. Fresh fruit means fresh fruit and fresh vegetables means just that. Hand sliced red potatoes seasoned to perfection with just the right olive oil and seasoning makes all the difference in the world. Hundreds of varieties of pancakes are made to order from scratch unlike most places that prepares stacks way ahead of time and then send out in only seconds. Papu's has never been anything other than exquisite in my eyes and so it would seem to me that if any one had a complaint it would not be valid, but instead done out of some jealousy or spite. For anyone that would actually express displeasure- please go where you belong- and that would be somewhere where nobody cares-because the problem is obviously you. The family at Papu's Place cares about people- and they attract good people from as far away as South County and even Boston. By the way I have been there when Boston Bruins players have dined there as they do. The story of the foundation of giving and helping that the restaurant is based on is on the back of the menu- but it's sad that people who could use the story the most are too busy counting paper towels in the bathroom trash can.

On Mother's day we waited 55 minutes for our breakfast. During this time I had 5 cups of coffee and my wife 2 cups of tea. They kept apologizing that because of Mother's day they had catering jobs and many reservations and that was the reason for the delay. There were perhaps 15 people seated when we entered and only at one table were people eating.
When we finally got our breakfast my omelet was overcooked and believe it or not, was barely warm. So was my wife's. When we finished I went to the only restroom and found that the towel dispenser was empty and that there were only two towels in the garbage can. The prices are about 40% higher than Cal's in N. Providence and the food is mediocre.
I would never again set foot in this restaurant!!!

One of the best breakfasts I have ever had. The place was immaculate, the pancakes were the best I've ever had, the rest of my order was also delicious and the hostess was very friendly and personable. The whole meal was excellent. Will definately go there again (can't wait.)

From the moment I walked into Papu's, I knew this wasn't going to be a typical morning dining experience. The spotless eatery has a homey feeling with a Mediterranean decor.... Very comfy atmosphere. I was instantly greeted with a warm smile by the owner upon arrival. The food was just as wonderful as the service!
You can just tell these people put their heart and soul into the place, something which is a rare to find in a breakfast place.

I wouldn't go as far as to say best food in RI, but certainly best breakfast. Hands down. My hash was delicious. Not too salty, not too potato-ey, crispy on the outside, bursting with meaty goodness within.Service was top notch. You can tell every single thing on the menu is made to order with fresh ingredients. I strongly suggest the Baked Eggs Italiano next time your in there. A true diamond in the rough.

Breakfast took a long time here. The food was OK, nothing sensational, but a decent value. Skip the pancakes, they were the weakest part of the meal. The homefries were a bit undercooked and the ham which was alleged to be carved off the bone, was too thin & dry. It's OK, just be careful what you order and prepare to wait a long time for it to come out of the kitchen.
The server was excellent. She was very friendly and made it an overall better experience.
