I am a native of East Brunswick and this Perkins on Route 18 used to be a Chinese restaurant. I went there for the first time this past weekend and I was surprised by the business.

It is very busy there and for good reason. The food is priced just right. Not cheap but not too expensive. The wait staff is quick and are always friendly. They consistently check on you without hounding you.

I ordered French Toast with hash browns on the side. The hash browns were done perfectly and they weren't oily like most places. The French Toast came as 5 full pieces of thick bread sprinkled with powered sugar. Cooked just right not burnt. A very enjoyable meal. If you want to go on weekends, get there very early.

When you're passing through East Brunswick, this is a good place for a quick meal.

This restaurant is fabulous. You can tell b/c there is usually always a wait - but the staff work hard, and are friendly. The food is always good. Once my mother-in-law ordered the wrong thing. It was her fault, but she tried it anyway and didn't like it. The waitress replaced it for free with a smile even though it was our fault.

I love eating here!
