Went to the new Sherbrook location on May 25, 2008 at about 10:45 a.m. It's a much bigger seating area than the Osbourne Village location. We had to wait five minutes to be seated and then stand in line to order for another eight minutes. We then waited 40 minutes for the food to arrive at our table. You refill your own coffee at the coffee stand. The coffee was excellent and raw sugar and cream are available to doctor it. My breakfast, when it turned up, consisted of cheesy scrambled egges, house-made toast, a small pot of jam, and an ala carte order of sausage links. The toast was burned, the eggs were an uneartly orange color (but tasty), and the sausage was dry and tough. The black-bottom cupcake I took home and consumed later that afternoon was delicious.

We LOVE Stellas. The food is healthy and very tasty. The free range eggs are wonderful! The one in Osbourne Village has an outdoor eating area, a mid area which is actually part of the little mall but set up with tables and then the regular inside of the cafe. Dogs are permitted in the mid area and the outdoor area. Typically these dogs are very well behaved and within the law since its not actually IN the restaurant. Admittedly somedays it is VERY busy so arrive early like we do to ensure seating.

One Bad Experience:
I recently stopped by Stella's with my best friend for breakfast/lunch on June 30th, 2007. As we often found Stella's to be a great place to go. This would prove be a much different experience. As we sat at the table just outside the door to the eatery in the next to the doors of the Urban barn at a table for two, a lady walked in with a huge dog. Looking like it was a cross between a German Shepard and a Rottwilier. She join a gentleman and another lady whom had a kleenex box dog in a carrier. First of all I thought that the Winnipeg by-laws forbid pets to be in an eating establishment unless it was a seeing eye dog. And certainly seeing eye dogs would be kept under control and not have their face in my bacon and eggs. Both my giel friend and I were somewhat worried about the size of the dog and the fact it was so close to us and our food. The waitress came over and asked if everything was ok. I said "NO" as I did not think that I was planning on spending my lunch with a room full of dogs! She said most apologetically. I am sorry but that is, "Marllo Kidder", AKA Louis Lane from Superman. To me this means nothing, does "celebraty status" give you the right to take your massive dog into a restuarant and spoil someone else breakfast. I think this was less than conciderate. They could have sat outside on the patio at least. And apparently nothing would be said to her by Stella's due to the fact she was who she was. So my half eaten breakfast was left and we left Stella'a feeling vey much like second class people.

The food is amazing and the restaurant has a cozy atmosphere. The only problem is that it seems everyone else thinks so too---the place is always packed with line ups at the door!
Highly recommend the fruit and yogurt parfait! So huge!
