Anyone who's ever been to Linden Diner could tell you that you got very good food at a fair price . Anthony always made you feel at home with a warm smile and greeting when you came in .Anthony reminded me of my dad with his big heart and hospitality .The place was always packed because Anthony knew people. The place is not the same without his personality, Thanks Anthony for feeding me all those cold mornings.

In the end, some 6 months ago,end of 2/2009 or so. The death of a Family member along with the long awaited time to retirer,at 69 with 70 knocking at the door, Mr Anthony Lavargna Sr called it quits and retired. Alot of people ask, " Than why didn't his son take over?" Anthony Jr was in a horrific car accident on May,18 2005 and was left disabled without the ability to stand on his leg for very long ! So all the rumors and remarks about things that people aren't sure of ,but post anyway, will not be defended ( except to say you must be pretty board if your writting about his mistakes instead of working on your own !!!)
The Diner was one families lifes work and the Lavargna's are proud of thier 40 year strong history. We thank all of our customers, wheather you came in once or everyday, you were considered family and are missed ! The sad part is someone will misconstrue this and turn it into an insult. So be it but the Family wants to thank all from our hearts, and believe it or not we miss you guys!!!! The Lavargna Family

I miss this wonderful neighborhood place! I have a lot of food allergies and they ALWAYS accommodated me. They had the best breakfasts and I often ate here with friends. Tony, the original owner, was funny and welcoming. He used to call me "Sunshine" which would brighten my day. I wish all of the people who were part of the Linden Diner all the best. Thanks for many wonderful memories.

The diner was a great place for reasonable food and drink but now since it has become the "Action Diner" under new management i'm not sure what to expect anymore. Its sad to see the old Linden Diner not present in Linden Square anymore. I may try this place now but it won't be the same as before, and by the way this diner is in Malden, not Revere

I am someone who used to work at the old dairy bar in the 1960's. I come from Linden on Lynn Street and my stepfather worked for years as a bartender at Morrison's in the 60's. I cannot understand why someone would want to talk about someone's past, present, or future in terms of anything as this is supposed to be a site just for food reviews. Anyways I do remember your family and wish you the best. I have not been there in years but sill love the Linden Diner.

I worked as a waitress at the Linden Diner for 18 years, The Lavargna;s became my second family. We all have things we have done in our past, But come on this is ridiculous, Anthony (son) has left his past exactly where it belongs in the past and so should you. I am devistated that I will no longer work beside them, But I am Gratefull for all they taught me and all they did for me,I will miss them very much, With that said to all my regular's THANK YOU! I think of all of you all the time :)....Ari

I am growing tired of one person that keeps posting about my lifes mistakes and trying to ruin my buisness. First of all in order to ruin my buisness you would have to get the facts stright. I am the owners "SON". Lets go from there. It is true that there are things in my closet that i wouldn't want the whole world to know.My "personal" problems were taken care of long ago. As for the recent charges on me, well what can i say. If you knew me you would know that 5 years ago i was hit by a bus and my right leg was re-construted with 2 metal plates,2 rods up each side of my leg and 18 screws to hold it all toghter. The officer asked me if i was on any meds and since i have no reason to lie i said yes. When he asked what kind of meds i told him. Thats when he arrested me. I had no prescribed medications in the car and was going to pick up my son(which i won custordy of) at school.
So my friend from calf. keep up trying to ruin my buisness long distance. It will be very hard to do long distance, but you can try!
The Linden Diner has a 40 year record of good buisness. You sound like a babbling fool !
The owners son, Anthony

I am writing this in reference to the person who posted the the Linden Diner was run by the Lavargna family and said the owners son was a heroin addict. Maybe true, Maybe false? Only he and his "close Friends" would know something like that. The only way you would know is if you are a heroin addict yourself and lived in that world ! So the way the public veiws it is that you traveled with this so called addict and did that yourself. If you were a working man how would you know,or why would you be thinking of Herion. My guess is the son is a recovering addict and if you really knew him you would know that he was hit by a school bus in 95 and has chronic pain problems.

I worked on the refrigeration equipment at the restaurant for over 20 years. I was behind the scenes listening to all the comments made by the cooks and the waitress and the owners. I never heard them say a bad word about a picky customer. I have seen food sent back and a complete new plate was sent back out, not the same one warmed up. They knew their customers and knew what they wanted. There was always alot of shouting going on, but that's what families that work together do. Linden diner was your hard working diner trying to make a living.

I always liked the diner and I think the food and service was very good and priced reasonably. It's sad that it is for sale.
I don't understand why people take cheap shots but don't have the courage to put their name up there....

The Linden Diner is great. I'm not going to blab on about it, but the prices are reasonable, the food and service is good.
Check it out!
I always get the "Little A" - Eggs over easy, bacon, toast and home fries. It's awesome!
