I've heard such high reviews about this place and I was really excited to try it. Since I rarely have time in the mornings to sit down and eat, I decided to call in my order. The phone rang forever before it was even picked up and I was put on hold. I waited...forever...then someone picked up the phone and hung it up!...ok? I work in a restaurant and I know sometimes if you're really busy that can happen. So I called back. It was busy. Alright. I had been looking forward to eating here all morning so I decided to give them one more chance. I called again. No one even picked up this time.
I cant say whether or not the food is any good at this place but they obviously didn't need my business.

Worst service ever. We were told by management after 15 minutes at our table without a waiter, drink or a "hello" they didn't need our business. Flies everywhere.

My new boss let's me work from home on Fridays and OLD WEST has become my new Friday routine. Their portions are huge, the waitstaff is friendly and there's something for everyone on the menu.

The staff has all been there a long time. They all help each other out so you'll never have to wait long for anything you desire.

The eggs are cooked to perfection and the pancakes are yummy and creative. They have a lunch menu if you desire but breakfast is king here. The restaurant is not fancy-just good home cookin'. The dining room is too small, especially on weekends where a 30 minute wait is not uncommon. On the plus side of things - the waitstaff will know your name after the first visit and bring you stuff automatically once you've been a time or two.

I saw the glowing reviews and was excited to try The Old West Cafe. I was disappointed. I had the french toast, scrambled eggs with bacon and hash browns. It was all good, but not particularly hot. The bacon was thick and not crispy at all.

The worst part was a lot of flies buzzing around. Makes me wonder if they have a cleanliness problem.

The service was friendly and fast. I don't know why the food wasn't hotter. Kind of a mystery.

Holy smokes this place is good. I have been many times and have always had a good meal. Service is usually good, if not great and the portions are huge. It is a must go if you are ever in the Denton area.

This was the greatest breakfast i have ever had. I ordered the US Marshall. It was great. it consists of texas toast with hashbrowns piled on top, then sausage cream gravy, then 3 eggs piled high and 2 slices of bacon on the side. The portions are huge.
there is a wait to get in but it is worth it.

I frequent Oldwest and asked the manager about the cooler situation. They told me they had one cooler down and they replaced it promptly. I have never gotten sick from eating there, the food is awesome! Don't listen to that hater below...

the denton health department has recently fined old west because all of their cooling units are running too hot. food born illnesses anyone?

If your looking for good ole country breakfast at a reasonable price and generous quanity, this is definitely the place for you. It gets very crowded fast so always space your visits. If your going at lunch make sure your not due back right in an hour. Try it out!!! Try Jesus also he is number one!!!!!!!!!!
