This is a rare Depression era diner with Depression era prices that was saved from salvage by the owner.

The classic railroad car diner is the narrowest we have ever been in. There is only room for two small booths near the front of the diner The usual bar stools and counter space line the remainder of the diner across from the cooking area.

Some things about the limited menu seemed unusual. One pancake $1, 2 pancakes $2, 3 pancakes $3. (one pancake might be plenty for some.) Cheese omelet $3, ham and cheese omelet $3.

The owner/cook made a point of greeting us. The waitress was very agreeable.

We found the food and coffee well above average.

Obviously not a great place for anybody with claustrophobia or a hankering for splendor but a rare treat for us classic diner fans.

The hours are 6 a.m. to 2 p.m (to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday I think and closed Sunday).
