Janet's has a great variety of breakfast but omelettes and hub-cap sized pancakes are their forte. The biscuits are some times just too big to be baked properly, but they taste good. The staff are friendly and will tweak your order just to your liking with no problem. I always have enough to take home. Love, love the patio seating where well behaved dogs can make sure nothing edible hits the ground. If there were a best breakfast place to go with your dog award, Janet's in Lakeside would win hands down. If you leave hungry, it's because you want to.

This is the sister restaurant to Janet's Montana Cafe in Alpine (literally, since the other sister runs the Alpine location). We were pleased to find this location as we rode by. Wonderful service, great food (and a lot of it) and a convenient location right off I-8 make this a great destination for a good, hearty breakfast. There is a small outside seating area that is nice to use on a pleasant day.
