The food was very good. Our waiter was great. I saw many things I'd like to try like the cat head. Try the bacon...amazing.
The wait was FOREVER. We got there at 11:50 AM, got seated, by the time we got our food it was 1:30 PM.
While waiting to be seated we saw two and for tops vacant. The bus boys were so slow...while many people waited to be seated these empty dirty tables remained open for 20 minutes or more. I watched this one bus "boy" go to the table once to clear it, no tray, had to make two trips to clear it. Made another trip to wipe the table, another trip to set the table...I could have had that place clean as a whistle in minutes....they need to light a fire under some of these folks. I'm not sure if I have all day to go back again.

Simply the BEST Breakfast in the Northwest! If there is one place you do not want to miss it is here! I could have closed my eyes and blind pointed to anything on the menu, and had a spectacular meal. The fried chicken waffle is the famous dish, and it certainly did not disappoint. Thankfully I was part of a large group to sample multiple dishes, and EVERY one was Great! AND the bottomless Stumptown coffee! I lost my cup count they filled it so regularly. The wait is long with good reason, but we had a party greater than 6, so we could make a reservation. There is a line over an hour before opening so be warned, but I truly recommend you do not miss this place if in the area.

This restaurant makes me sad that I've given out five-stars to others. It is deservedly the BEST dining experience, even with the wait, I've ever had. For starters, you can PARK! There is ample parking on the streets surrounding this little gem. There was garden porch seating when we were there (it's May 2nd) as well as bar and booth and table indoors. You can grab a cup of joe while you wait, just walk up and get one, or order your poison from the bartender. Lots of bloody mary's were tearing out of there, and few screwdrivers as well.
After a mere 50 minute wait, and it was SO WORTH IT, we were seated at a table inside, and I was luckily facing the kitchen. It's a large, beautiful open kitchen. You can see the guys and gals doing their thang back there, and it's ALL GOOD. We had to order the chicken and waffle, having heard from far and wide how extraordinarily good it is. IT WAS. BY FAR. THE BEST. FRIED CHICKEN. AND WAFFLE. I'VE EVER HAD.
I'm not kidding. This is a fattsy talking, with lots of poundage of fried goodness from up and down the West Coast. I've got POUNDS of experience, and this is IT. By God, you can't get any fresher, any crisper, any juicier, chicken. You can't get a fluffier but dense, light but heavy, crispy but creamy waffle, done to PERFECTION, anywhere on the left coast. And if you can - PLEASE TELL ME, I'll go there. But seriously, you have to try this place. I mean, how much worse can the wait get? No one is sad, no one is antsy, everyone in line is happy just to be alive and getting ready to eat at this place.
There's also a line-up of three benedicts with REAL hollandaise sauce, yes real. There is a bevy of skillets that we saw come out and they looked SO FRESH and clean, and they have an appetizer of a breakfast corn dog, hand dipped sausage, that the neighboring table said was the BEST CORNDOG SHE HAD EVER EATEN.
Go here. Tell Eric our excellent server that Jennifer and Richard say HI and give him a hug for his rough patch. He filled our coffees up PRONTO and I mean fast. I had at LEAST 4 refills - and he's good with the advice too. He steered us to gravy on the side, and honest to pete - this is better than my OWN gravy, which should be in a museum of the best gravy ever made by a human being. So i abdicate the thrown and hand my title to the chef(s) at the SCREEN DOOR. I bow to you in the chicken, waffle and gravy departments. HONESTLY, YOU GUYS ARE WICKED-GOOD. I WILL BE BACK!!!

Four words: Fried chicken and waffle. Amazing amazing. Best fried chicken I've ever had, 4 big moist tasty crispy pieces on a sweet potato waffle that also had great flavor. Ordered a side of the fantastic sausage gravy and was in heaven, you don't find food this good very many places. Took a lot home. The coffee was just fair but our waiter keep our cups full. On a Sunday at noon we had over an hour wait and some of the specials were sold out, so get there early for less wait and best selection. A real winner!

Goodness! Where do I begin! This place is amazing! The coffee...perfection! The blood marys...some of the best ever, anywhere! The food...oh, the food :)
I just adore the benedicts...especially the fried oyster benedict. You just can't go wrong with this place! Unless you are in a hurry to get a table, 'cause there can be a bit of a wait. But that only further attests to just how good it is!

I had the biscuits and gravy - the biscuits were
exceptional. My wife had the canjun scramble - two big thumbs up. Generous portions. Great Stumptown coffee. It seems very popular - after arriving at opening time, all the tables were full within 30 minutes. We agreed this required a repeat visit.
