We ate here on our road trip and my salmon was so dry it was dark red in color. My kids mentioned their grilled cheese was oily and for them to mention it was a surprise. I hate complaining but I thought giving them feedback would be helpful to them to better help their cooks. On a comment card (they gave me) I marked lots of complimentary reviews for staff friendliness and cleanliness, etc. I also wrote the above complaints about the foods and added some good comments about the salad and sides so they wouldn't feel like I was just complaining. On the way out I thanked the person who seemed like the manager or owner, and she loudly remarked, "Different strokes for different folks!" I was shocked someone would give out a feedback card and then slap the customer in the face with it because they weren't totally happy with it. I guess she thinks some people like dried out fish and I can like it or leave it. I think i'll leave it! I should have just told them it was wretched and to take it back and get me something edible.

Roseburg really suffers from these chain restaurants. The food arrives on your plate with the same attention you'd expect to find served to your hospital room. Ordering breakfast for two? Expect to spend an additional $10-$15 over what an average cafe charges.
In fairness, if you can't imagine breakfast without a picture menu and a healthy spring of parsley, Denny's (located off I-5 exit 124) offers a better breakfast at lower prices.

I had Breakfast at Elmers today for the first time and it was great. Not only did my meal come out in a timely manner but the portions were very generious for the $$$ and the food was hot and fresh. My service was exceptional and I would recomend this restaurant to anyone looking for a good meal at a reasonable price.

THis is not one of my favorite places to go for good service from the front desk. Since that is always one's first impression I would assume that by now they would have fixed that problem by firing the one woman who is always at the front being rude and obnoxious. However, once you get past the front and actually get a seat, difficult at best!!!, then the service is average, the food is okay to very good, and the atmosphere is okay. They do have a patio, nice in the right weather. I would not recommend this place to anyone until the service problem is taken care of.
