What a hard-working crew - kitchen cooks were going non-stop, and one SuperWoman was working *all* of the tables out front...the owner (?? Female sans apron but equally pleasant) appeared to step in at a point to help bus the tables, to keep things moving along.
We somehow managed to get to the restaurant before realizing that we had forgotten our toddler's gear bag (Including a few small staple toys/books); what could have been a big problem ended up being no problem at all...our fears were quickly allayed as our SuperServer swiftly brought our daughter some neat toys from their stash by the entrance...she was thrilled! This lady was extremely busy; it was very nice of her to notice that our daughter was a bit perturbed and immediately offer a fun solution.
Food was served quickly, and was very fresh and tasty. A hit with us all! Menu was extensive and varied...
Agreed with past reviewers that things were a tad grimy in the walk from the seating area to the bathroom (Had to walk by a vacant table full of dishes from past patrons awaiting their trip back to the kitchen -- no bussing station?) - but it was a treat to see such a historic and cute Mass Ave biz being enjoyed by so many folks.
We will most certainly be back...hooray for this hidden gem!

Help is really nice and works hard to make you feel welcome. But the food is "good" and the place is sort of dingy.

More like 'good' than 'very good' but better than 'OK'. The owners are Irish, so there is a bit of an Irish/English breakfast vibe (ugh, baked beans). Anyway pancakes are the best with fresh fruit. Family friendly, waitstaff can be a bit slow, but the best place in Arlington.
