If you want the basic breakfast fare in good portions and at cheap prices, and don't mind waiting in line to get it, then get it here.

Drat, I didn't see the Eggs Benidict on the special board. None the less, we had a pretty good experience at Gateway. Lot's of food for little money. Decent coffee with plenty of refills. I had the 1-2-3-4 breakfast, eggs were decent, bacon was thick and smokey, hashbrowns were delightful, and the biscuits and gravy stuck to my ribs with soft, moist biscuits and gravy with huge chunks of sausage in it.
Husband had the fabulous chicken fried steak (2 steaks BTW) with pancakes, eggs and hashbrowns.
Don't plan on doing anything for the rest of the day after you eat at Gateway, the food tends to make you go a little comatose. I was gravy drunk for the remainder of the day and accomplished nothing. All in all good food, great deal! Maybe next time I'll check the special board for the Beni, but for now the hunt continues.
**Avoid the bathrooms if you can.**

Its a small, busy place with reasonable prices and good service. Our wait time for a table on a weekend at 10am was very short. The wait after ordering was also short, The food was hot and very good.
They don't advertise. They don't have to. Great service, great food and large portions. If you leave this place hungry, it's your fault. I know we will be back.

This place rocks. Found it on the internet, as a visitor looking for a good breakfast (I hate to eat at hotels)I went there and found a dumpy building that no tourist would ever know about.
My wife and I went in and saw all the locals eating these huge plates of food, we commented that either the food is bad and they want to serve a lot of it or the food is awesome and they are proud of it.
The food was plentiful, the service excellent, the taste to die for and overall this is a diamond in the rough.
It is in a working class neighborhood in an old part of Portland, well worth the drive, you won't find anyplace like this for value and service.

Best kept secret that is starting to get out. Dumpy restaurant, but EXCELLENT food. HUGE portions too. I recommend this place to all my friends. They are only open for breakfast and lunch. If you care more about the food\price than "atmosphere", try this place you will not be disapointed.
