"I LOVE Mena's" Been to New Orleans 7 times since 1995 and have been going to Mena's Palace ever since the first trip when after asking the Hotel Concierge for a good place for Breakfast, he sent us to Mena's Palace. We Loved that first breakfast and have been going ever since, and not just for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner are excellent as well. They have Daily Special for Lunch and Dinner, which are really good. I LOVE to go to both "Galatoire's" and "Arnuad's" for "Wonderful Splurge Lunchs" and when I do, I go to MENA'S for DINNER. As for BREAKFAST, the Coffee is excellent as are the Eggs and Grits. Service is excellent, "Love the Waitresses" always Nice and Friendly, and the high energy Vibe of the clientel make for great ambiance. Also, "Mena's Palace" is just about the only Diner/Coffee Shop Type of place in the area, there is the Clover Grille about 12 blocks away on Bourbon St. down towards Esplanade, but it's not as good as Mena's. "Mena's is the Bomb" LOVE it!!!!! Daniel from New York, NY, Lover of Mena's and the Big Easy "NEW ORLEANS" !!!!!!

Standard (extra-)greasy spoon, they serve below average quality food for a below average price.
If you work nearby and require sustenance it's a place to run to for a cheap hot breakfast. It's not worth a trip to get to.

Egg and grits were OK here, and that's all the good I can really say. The breakfast I had the day before at Commerce (Gravier St.) was worth anyone's time to walk an extra few blocks out of the French Quarter. I don't see them here to review - omelette was really good, grits & biscuit were fantastic.

Had to have the pork chops for breakfast twice in one week, they were so flavorful and tasty. They come as a "side". Since I couldn't get past the pork chops, I have no idea what anything else tasted like, but that made my morning! My traveling companions followed my lead the 2nd time around. The chef loves to use a special combo of spices that include rosemary and thyme, and this sets it up for success.
Typical, simple homemade food, but quite good and very reasonably priced, especially for being in the heart of the French Quarter. The home fries were large chunks of potato that looked aneimic but tasted out of this world.
