I worked at this restaurant from opening day and for a year afterwards. I saw it go from a gutted hole in the wall, to a full restaurant. I saw it go from few customers to busy every day all day.
That was back in 2004. Many changes and much growth since then. Many awards, too.
The food is top notch all the time.
A little too pricey for me, but I'm an absolute tightwad. $12 average for breakfast, $14 average for lunch, which is actually pretty good on most people's wallets. I usually go for the $8 range.
Great coffee and service, great food. Extremely local food/vegan friendly.
The only cons I can see is that at times it can get very busy, and very noisy. Because it is a brick-walled shoebox (one room only), the noise just bounces around everywhere.

Realize that you walk into one of the oldest brick buildings in Victoria. Dark deep brown tables and chairs. The walls are covered with art work from local artists, including employees. The food and coffee is all organic. Very vegan friendly. The pesto hash browns is very tasty, the homemade salsa has great taste/heat balance. The "Chinatown Dragon Bun" has sweet Chinese sausage, creamcheese scrambled eggs, wheat steam bun..Yummy! Great upscale urban eatery that even has crayons for the young ones. Do not miss out.
