Breakfast at Eddy's was not the best experience for my husband and me, but it wasn't terrible. The greeter/hostess refused to acknowledge us, which was odd considering we were the only people waiting for a table. When a family of "regulars" walked in ~3 min. after us, she sat them immediately (before us). Like the hostess, the interior is uninviting - the colors of the walls remind me of a hospital. We sat at the (small) bar, where we listened to a cranky waitress gripe about her customers - any paying customer with a special or specific order was considered a nuisance. Fortunately, our waitress was patient and polite. The food was decent. My bacon was perfectly cooked. My husband enjoyed his French toast (heavy on the egg). Unfortunately, the hash browns were the WORST I've ever had. A more appropriate name is mashed browns. Even worse, the mashed browns were not included with my small breakfast sandwich, so a meal that costs $4.99 most places costs $7 at Eddy's on account of the separate charge. My husband, however, paid $4.99 for eggs & French toast, which is very reasonable. I doubt we'll return to Eddy's for breakfast, but we might try lunch when/if they redecorate.

If anyone is looking to get some food...this is the place to go. I promise you that you WILL be satisfied. I ordered tw eggs, two pancakes, and sausage. they cooked it to perfection!!!! for only 4.99!!! on top of that....they're chocalate milk and coffee is delicious!!! if you ask me where I suggest to eat breakfast...I promise you I WILL say Eddy's Cafe.

Hands down the best breakfast place in Virginia Beach. The food is always cooked to perfection and the service is second to none. Would highly recommend Eddy's Cafe to anyone in search of a great locals spot for breakfast or lunch.

I ordered a western omlette and it came out shaped like a triangle and very under cooked. When I say this the egg wasn't fully cooked it was still runny. The hashbrowns that I had with it were cold and undercooked. The toast, was cold as ice. I did observe people picking up plates and cups from tables where people had been sitting and I did not see anyone of them wash there hands but yet I did see them serve more drinks and food. My overall rating for this place is I would have to say that I would rather eat in a bathroom at a TRUCK Stop than eat here.

It seems to be under new ownership, but the people are the same. I really enjoy the breakfast, and most of all the staff.

My LAST breakfast there was a bacon & swiss cheese omelet. Incredibly flat omelet even though it had bacon inside. I could barely see any cheese and the bacon was 3 whole pieces just laid across scrambled eggs and the top pulled over it. It was flat, dry and perfectly AWFUL! Oh...and they take their frozen biscuits, cut them in half and grill them which burns the edges and dries it out. My husband said that the hash browns were tasteless and rubbery. We won't go back even though it's just down the street from us.
