Great egg/meat-or-veg/potato breakfast menu with tempting specials and huge portions. The restaurant's seating is small, so there may be a wait for seating and food during peak times. The servers are friendly and professional. They proudly serve Kobos coffee which I prefer over the Stumptown cult.

This may be my favorite breakfast spot in Portland. The wait can be lengthy (though no where near the ridiculous epic waiting that takes place at Gravy). The servers are always attentive and helpful, the coffee is good, but nothing stellar. The food, however, is amazing. Simple, fresh ingredients make every dish taste great. The menu doesn't try to be everything to everyone, and the dishes are straightforward and honest, you can actually taste what's in them. In a time when so many restaurants seem overwrought with desire to stuff as many crazy-sounding ingredients into each bite, the honesty of Helzer's fare come out ahead.

poor service they messed up my order told me my french toast would be 25 minutes, no big deal then they messed up the order said 5 more minutes then heard the cook say at least 15 waitress came back said just a few more minutes so ate the rest of wifes meal. no sorry nothing bad service and loud. just dont like to be lyed to

Helser's is a hip family spot. You'll see classy folks and colorful hair with their organic tots. The food was excellent! The service was good. The wait was long to get a table.
