From the time you put your name in to the time you finish your meal ... 2 hours. It's very good with large portions. Get there early or after 1:30; I believe they close at 3. Hashbrowns, biscuits & gravy, and the scrambles are awesome.

After reading all the comments that have come before me, I took my whole family down there on a Tuesday morning (3/1) and found that everyone was right. This place is awesome! From the beginning: Outstanding service, Friendly service, best coffee ever in a restaurant, fantastic menu to ponder, food was hot and very pleasing to the eye, the food was a delight to eat. As stated in a previous note, the half order of French toast is enough (best with a side of yummy sausage), the corned beef hash is to die for (your gonna need a take home box). Everything we had was the best I've every had in Portland and I've been going out to breakfast for 65 years. Kudos to all the employees at Gravy. A big thank you and we will be seeing you again and I'll be telling all my friends - better get a bigger place (no don't - that just ruins a great place.)

Fantastic breakfast house! You must try the oatmeal. Steamy berries underneath a crunchy sugar coating. It's more like dessert, if you ask me. Bomb! Biscuits and gravy is a must. All their platters could feed 2-3 people easily. It usually has long lines, but it's well worth the wait. Don't go if you're on a diet. You'll want everything and you'll only break your diet.

If you go to this restaurant, you have to try the oatmeal brulee. No matter what kind you get it will be a heavenly experience. The vegetarian biscuits and gravy are crazy good as well. Very busy on the weekends so get there early or be willing to wait.

This is one of two of my very favorite breakfast spots in Portland. The food is delicious, the place is lovely and even when the servers are busy they are kind and attentive. I love everything I've ever eaten there. I recommend bringing a friend who wants to share so you can get multiple things. Most of they're scrambles give me one or two more meals because they're so big. Five thumbs up to this place. Do yourself a favor and become a fan today!

Alas, no Eggs Benidict! But what's this, Challah Bread French Toast, I'm intrigued. What I got was no less than four feet of some of the most delectible french toast ever. I say four feet because each piece was as big as my foot. It was thick, velvety, sweet and custardy. Each bite melted in my mouth. Get a half order. I had two feet left over.
My husbands Biscuits and Gravy was delightful as well. The gravy was savory with a hint of fennel. It was neither to thick or to thin and it covered a just slightly overdone biscuit.
Gravy also had some better than average hashbrowns. They had a nice crunchy side and a softer side that went well with their homemade hotsauce.
I will be back, despite their lack of Beni. I can easily see myself losing sleep as I long for their Challah Bread French Toast, but for now The Hunt Continues.

This popular Mississippi breakfast joint serves HUGE, heavy-duty, logger-style breakfast. I love their unique 'crunchy' hash browns and thick-cut bacon. Menu features build-your-own omelets with many meat and meatless options. Servers are casual, friendly, and professional.
CONS: Plan on a long wait -- outside. Dining area is usually crowded and noisy. Servers can be overwhelmed during peak times and plan on another longer than average wait for food to be served.
Overall, still worth the wait.
