The eggs were like rubber.

The food was cold.

The crab was over cooked.

The hot chocolate was watered down & luke warm.

I asked for juice and was given a large glass of water.

We will never go back to this place!

We've become regulars there. We've never received or saw or heard rude behavior from any of the waitstaff. In fact I like going there because we're never addressed as "Hey guys" by someone who can't see that we're a man and woman. I also like the fact they know how to say "You're welcome" instead of "No Problem" when I tell them thank you. There seems to be a non-importance placed on simple civilized gestures as "Yes sir" "No sir" "May I refill your glass?" "May I take that empty plate?" at so many restaurants and cafes these days but not here.

Went for breakfast last Saturday. This was my first visit. Food was very good. We arrived after the morning rush around 11 AM. I hope the reviews on this page are read by the owners we need good traditional breakfast restruants in this area. I will defenantly try this again.

I was a loyal fan in the beginning. I originally liked the breakfast and Chick. fried steak. The first few times were good experiences. I was going with my family or coworkers at least twice a week. I work at the hospital down the street and was passing out menus to increase their business.BUTThis past month has been TERRIBLE. The food has been bad, really poor service.. The last time was the last STRAW. My co-workers and I met for lunch, we asked for our Tea in a to-go cup INSTEAD of a glass, so we could take it with us back to work. When we went to pay we noticed we were each charged 1.59 for a tea AND 1.99 for a to-go tea. $4 for a cup of tea???!! We questioned the server first who apologetically admitted that she got in trouble for undercharging before.We then asked for the manager (Who looked about 19) whose only response was "I don't set the prices"We then asked for the owner, A snobby older woman who simply stated that "We don't sell Tea all you can drink here and all you can drink to go".It was ONE cup, which she topped off once(maybe a fourth), we saved them a dish to clean!Too bad this place doesn't care about keeping loyal customers, I was spreading the word at the hospital about them but NO MORE!!!!! I suppose the IHOP across the street will get my business instead.

I was seated in a timely manner. The server was talking to another sever on how she made-up this story to the owner on how she got this cook fired from his first day of employment. I asked the server if she could just take our order and chat someother time about company business. The eggs were not made right, when I complained the owner came over and stated that we ran out of eggs and if I could just eat these. I informed him about the server talking about getting someone fired and he stated I was just trying to start problems. I got up and left without paying. Strange owner.

Our experience today was totally different from prior reviews. Service was fast. All the wait staff asked if we wanted coffee. Food was good, for the price. Nothing fancy. Just plain home-cooked food. We arrived around 9:00 a.m. and was seated immediately. Maybe they're trying to improve after reading these reviews?

We've been there 3 times. The third and last time we ordered steaks. Apparently, this is a new item for them as they had no idea how to cook. Apparently, we are not the only ones - see http://www.1431cafe.com. How funny. Well, for us we sent the steaks back to be recooked and manager came out like we stole his first born. Very argumentative and rude. When we went to speak with owner, he was worst. According to him, he is a millionaire and doesn't need to take crap from anyone. Instead he dishes carp out and charges you for it. We are never going back.

SLOOOOOW service, mediocre food, ill-mannered--at best--owner. Not one to give up on a place, knowing how hard it can be to iron issues out, we tried the place three times. The first two, the service was abysmally slow. The third time, the food was bad. Eggs ordered over-medium came out having barely touched the grill. When I sent my plate back, the dish came back incomplete. I asked to speak to the mgr. The owner came over. I recognized him as a friend of my mother's and a man who has opened several other--equally mediocre--restaurants in the area. When I tried politely to address my issues, he told me to cut to the chase and then told me that maybe I was too picky. Nice thought to the customer there, buddy. He made sure I knew that he does $35,000 a week in business and that he doesn't need mine. Sensitive, much?
