Unlike so many St. Louis breakfast places, SCC serves rolled oats instead of instant oatmeal. The serving is more than adequate and Not overcooked or soupy.

Although raisins and brown sugar are offered, I preferred adding blueberries and real maple syrup.

I've been going to the Coffee Garden for many years now (it's across the street from my apartment). It has always been a great hang-out kind of place where you can sip your coffee and eat your breakfast at a sidewalk table or in the back garden or on the upper deck, I've heard you can even eat inside. And it has gotten better over the years the food here is homemade like grandma would do. I love the Eggs Benedicts (they have 4 kinds) and the Eggs and Corned Beef Hash, but my favorite is the Pappies Omelet which has (smoked turkey, tomatoes, Guacamole, and hollandaise sauce. Basically I like anything smothered in hollandaise sauce, Yummy. If these don't get you the coffee garden has many other options for your tummy.
