After having breakfast from coast-to-coast, BILL'S certainly lioved up to it's reputation as the BEST BREKKIE IN AMERICA!!

I had their BLACKSTON BENEDICT and is was fablous .. .. COFFEE was delicious and plentiful!

You may not have a better meal while in San Jose .. ..

Visited the BILL'S on The Alameda near the airport, so never miss it when on the way to the airport!!

WOW!!

Not sure why I keep coming back here, except that it seems to be the best option in my area for breakfast. The coffee is pretty bad - bitter and burnt-tasting, pretty much any day I come in (and I'm in 2-3 days a week). Service is really spotty - a couple of the guys and one female server are really good, but sometimes you can see your food up, ready, and wait five minutes or more to get it, and sometimes it takes a while for a server to take your order (and this happens even when they aren't busy...). I always sit at the counter but they rotate servers - the counter doesn't have the same people - which prevents you from developing a rapport with the servers or feeling like a regular. Servers will talk over you, will start cashing you out and then get distracted to do something else (have a conversation with a coworker, for example) and in general aren't real professional.

The food? It's not bad. I usually get one of the breakfast specials with eggs, meat side, toast and fruit for aroud 11.50 - 12.50. The chicken apple sausage is good, and the eggs are always well done. The fruit is fresh and generous, as a side.

Summary: Bad coffee; passable service; decent food.
