The Avon Pavilion had been closed almost 2 years as a result of damage from Sandy. Much of Avon and surrounding beach towns were also damaged. But all is well and good. They did a great job. The Pavilion opened July 7th with (they say) a new menu. As always, the help is college girls and guys. Service is great. Coffee is plentiful. The location and the view can't be beat. I had a ham and cheese omelet which was very good. My wife had a scrambler and a pancake. She said she is just going to have the pancakes next time. They didn't have any specials on our visit, but they would be having them the next day. This place gets crowded with lines onto the boarwalk. So if you want to go )and you should), try to get there early. They open for breakfast at 7:30AM. Great to have them back. Go!! You'll enjoy the view and the food.

This place is right on the boardwalk facing the ocean. What a view!! What a place!! It gets very crowded in season so we decided to go before Memorial Day. Their official opening each year is for a Mother's Day Buffet. Then they are open from the following Thursday on. Today they had been open just one week. There was no crowd and we could sit anywhere. They have an inside area and an outside area covered by an awning. Today (because it was so beautiful) both were open to the nice weather.

The menu has everything. I had Eggs Avon, which was poached eggs over spinach on English muffin halves topped by cheddar and Jack cheese. My wife had the Shroom Scrambler. Both came with very good home fries. Service was excellent. The building also houses a boutique with shore and summer clothes and souvenirs. There are also three outside stands selling typical Jersey shore fare such as soft ice cream, hot dogs, hamburgers, fries, floats, etc. A great breakfast experience. We will back at least once more before the "season" starts and school lets out. Incidentally, breakfast is only served 7:30 to 11:30AM due to (they say) their small kitchen.
