For me, this place is WAY off the beaten track, an easy 45 minutes from home; it is SO GOOD I'm devising reasons to make the trip regularly. Skip the atmosphere, friendliness, and value-added stuff like a baseball memento wall; forgive Jerry his NY Yankee allegiance (from Brooklyn, no less!) There's a pic of Gil Hodges, so all is forgiven.
Cut to the chase: the cook knows from basted eggs, and they were perfect. So were the eggs Benedict, the coffee, the home fries (asked for them burnt, they came burnt!)I went yesterday, I've got the itch to return with friends.

This place is off the beaten path and something most people will miss out on. It is located just off route 22 in NJ next to the train station in Whitehouse Station.
First thing, the menu is huge, and if you don't see what you are looking for, ask and they can accommodate most anything. I really doubt that you will find nothing on the menu that doesn't suit you. I really enjoyed the chalk board style menu on the walls. They have tons of stuff. Enter, pull to the right, give yourself a couple minutes to read the menu then step up and order. Perhaps get a cup of coffee first and then decide.
The kitchen is open behind the counter so you can watch the chefs in action. It is very much a NYC style place. Its kind of strange but it accommodates both the "in and out" crowd as well as the "hang out" crowd. It works.
So I would recommend trying Jerry's if you are on the way somewhere and need a bite of wicked tasty breakfast quick, or it you need an hour to eat and figure out what to do for the rest of the day.
We only ate breakfast at Jerry's but their lunch looked pretty impressive too. Salads that are best described as flying saucer sized.
Apparently the owner or head chef Jerry is there most of the time to ensure that only quality breakfast goes over that counter. You can tell that its his place.
The breakfast skillets were very good, just the right size. The french toast came with fresh fruit, wicked good. Most important (to me anyway) ... fresh baked & sliced bread for toast!!! Holly Fn S batman! Its good.
