I flew into town with friends for a vacation and we drove by this cute bungalow serving breakfast and lunch. We had to give it a try. We were not disappointed. The place is quaint and charming and the food was top notch. My friend said it was the best eggs benedict he had in years. I had the Banana pecan pancakes and they were light and fluffy with just enough bananas and pecans, Delicious.. I was very impressed that they serve real vermont maple syrup at no extra charge. That is unusual considering the cost of mple syrup. Our waitress was very friendly and made us feel at home. As we were leaving we noticed the seating in the outside Garden. We will be back on a sunny morning to sit outside and enjoy another Delicious breakfast.

Having read about the place we were excited to try it out
When we arrived several folks were seated on the porch outside waiting to be seated. No staff greeted us or took our names and a group of regulars showed up signed in greeted with hugs and kisses while we sat. After several more minutes of totally being ignored we left to go elsewhere. Really no way to treat customers especially in this economy where restaurants come and go quickly. Good luck

My daughter and 2 grandaughters went today and I have lived in this town 40 years and have ate out alot...I was really looking forward to going there as it seem to be :my kind of place:. I love small, owner operated restaurants and cafe. I called to see if open, and almost change my mind about going there as the person was very curt and rude....but I said to myself , well busy or bad day for her. We go , and no smile or politeness, just set and get this over with attitude. We order, and I will say My dtr and grand daughter sandwiches were very nice My other grannddtr, pancakes nothing special... I asked for my cappacina to be bought with my crepes, and please no powdered sugar and very light on the jell topping, infact rather have as it turned out jelly?? OK, my crepes comes, cut no cuppacina, will be awhile, machine is not hot yet.... I say well, this will be cold, please keep it warm . She says, they would make another for me--ok , nice,,,I request to leave off the fruit mixture on top and very light inside. Well, I think they bought same back, just took off the pile on top---maybe not but was cold and still filled heavy inside. I said forget it to myself and open up and scape off the insides. Add my butter and syrup and eat --cold and all--also, my cuppacina was cold by then. I had drank half and ask :nicely if she would please just add a little regular coffee to warn up....No, I would have to charge you extra, if you want that, all very rude. I could not believe this. In addition, the sandwiches were very nice, my g-dtr did not want mayo, could she have some onion instead--no, I will have to charge you extra..ok. My dtr, asked if the cole slaw could be something else as they don t like mayo and would like perhaps fruit or cottage cheese, well, no way , .. forget it..It was not a pleasant experience and I have worked in customer service all my life and know this not the way to treat the public..

Best Pancakes in Sarasota, served with real Vermont maple syrup. Lobster eggs Benedict is amazing. All the meals are served with an edible orchid which was a nice surprise and made the presentation beautiful. The place is charming and friendly. What a wonderful addition to Sarasota.
