Perfect Porridge
(1 serving) Printable Version
- 1/2 a cup of steamed oats
- 1 cup of low fat milk
- 1/2 a granny smith apple (peeled and cubed)
- handful of saltanas
- handful of blueberries
Add to the pan the apple and the saltanas. Cook pot on high heat and until the milk has come to the boil (remember to scrape the bottom of the pot every now and then to make sure there are no oats burning on the bottom), continue to cook oats on a low heat (stirring) until the oats are soft and the mixture is at a desired thickness.
Serve with honey and cinnamon
You don't have to use apples and saltanas with this recipe. At the end you can serve it with any fruits (mango, kiwi, berries) and/or nuts.

I think "jess3151" meant "sultana" when she submitted this one. A sultana is a pale-colored raisin made from a white grape. For this recipe, any kind of raisin should work. Thanks for the question P.G.
