Chocolate Coffee
(2 servings) Printable Version
- 8 ounces strongly brewed coffee
- 4 Tablespoons grated sweetened chocolate
- 2 ounces chocolate liqueur
- 2 ounces cream or half & half
- whipped cream - for topping
In 2 mugs (preferably glass), pour even amounts of coffee. Stir 1 Tablespoon of grated chocolate and 1 ounce of chocolate liqueur into each serving. Add even amounts of cream or half & half to each mug.
Top each serving with whipped cream and garnish with the remaining grated chocolate.
Cooking Notes: The 8 ounces of coffee can be replaced with four 2-ounce espresso shots if desired. For the grated chocolate, any chocolate candy bar (ie. Hershey's) should work fine. For a nonalcoholic version of this drink, replace the chocolate liqueur with chocolate syrup.
Take a regular cup of coffee and turn it into a chocolate delight with just a couple added ingredients.

My husband and I are really on an after-dinner fancy coffee kick lately. We made the non-alcoholic version with Hershey's syrup. It was great, maybe not as good as a Starbucks drink, but still very good.
