Sausage Gravy and Biscuits
(4 servings) Printable Version
- 1 pound of sausage such as Jimmy Dean Original
- 1/3 to 1/2 cup of flour (depending on how thick you like your gravy)
- 2 cups milk
- salt and pepper - to taste
- baked buttermilk biscuits
Add flour and cook for about 1 minute to create a roux. Add milk slowly stirring constantly. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Serve over halved buttermilk biscuits.

Drain sausage ? Are you nuts thats what gives it flavor@!!!

For a healthier version, you can drain the sausage on paper towls before you add the flour - there's still enough fat to make the roux - just use a little less flour.
