Sour Milk Hotcakes
(16 servings) Printable Version
- 2 cups sour milk
- 2 or 3 eggs
- 2 Tablespoons cooking oil
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
Prepare on the griddle or in a large frying pan just as you would any pancake. The heat should be set around medium.
1/4 cup of batter will make 4 and 1/2 inch pancakes. 1/3 cup of batter will make 6-inch pancakes. Flip them when bubble appear on the tops. Cook the other sides to golden brown.
Last time I made this, I got sixteen 4 and 1/2 inch pancakes.
Don't cry over sour milk. It's actually a perfect ingredient to make pancake with. They taste similar to buttermilk pancakes.
