Almond Butter
(4 servings) Printable Version
- 4 Tablespoons almond flour (store-bought or made in food proccessor by finely grinding almonds)
- 1 Tablespoon flax flour
- 1 Tablespoon olive oil
- 1/8 teaspoon almond extract
Add a little more oil to make more "spreadable".
Make homemade almond butter on an as-needed basis for a fraction of the cost of almond butter sold in stores.

Use coconut oil instead - much better and no need for sugar.

I was amazed this worked. It needs some work though... a little sugar or something. Is there anything I could replace the olive oil with?

Flax flour is simply made by grinding flax to a powder. I grind my almonds and my flax in the coffee grinder.

I used almond oil instead of olive oil, and since I had no flax flour...
It's not as tasty as commercially made almond butter, or even the stuff you can grind yourself in specialty stores. Nutritious and filling, though!
